I'm thinking of suing the Canadian Olympic Association. While I was off last week, my 5 year old daughter Lindsay and I were stacking some old leftover hunks of two by four in the garage. (Glad I dropped all that money on toys last Christmas). Lindsay built a neat little stick figure, using five blocks. "Pfffft," I thought. "I can do better than that."
Then, not 48 hours later, the COA is unveiling a replica of Lindsay's stick figure and passing it off as the logo for the 2010 Winter Games.
Are you kidding me?
One of the judges said he voted for this logo because "It's something that appeals to young people and you know, I think there's a bit of our personality, the Canadian personality in it, saying, 'Here: This way to the podium, this was to the finish line'
Of COURSE it apppeals to young people! My five year old designed the same thing in my garage last week. And it's not saying, 'this way to the podium'. It's saying this way to the unemployment line for the person that made the call on THAT thing'.
Hang on. I'll see if the guy who designed the World Cup of Hockey trophy will let you cut in line.
