Most of the best items are gone in the biggest NHL auction of all time. The Ottawa Senators have elected to stand pat, at least when it comes to the highly coveted, expensive players. They may yet sneak in and grab a bargain or two, while the other clubs wonder to themselves, "I love that I landed those 2 guys for just 13 million. Now how the heck am I going to pay for the rest of my team?"
Quite frankly, the remaining pool has gotten shallow. Kiddie pool shallow. For your viewing pleasure, I present the most interesting unrestricted free agents remaining. They have one thing in common. A lot of miles on them. In some cases, the odometer has rolled over. A couple of times.
I've tried to rank the available veterans (geezers?) in order of potential impact that I think they might still have to the team that signs them.
