I've done it again. I've secured a transcript of our weekly NFL feature, Barry picking. Here's how the NFL conference championships will shake down.
Mrs Jerome: Well, it was a tough 1 and 3 week. I’m still 4 and 4 for the playoffs. And Keep in mind my career conference championship record is 71 and 7.
Buzz:: Um. That’s virtually impossible, Mrs Jerome.
Mrs Jerome: Buzz, don’t you have a traffic report to read? I know what my career record is and I’m telling you, it’s 61 and 12.
Steve: Actually, Mrs Jerome, that’s not the record you said a minute ago.
Mrs Jerome: Check the history books, Steve. You’re supposed to writing this stuff down. I’m telling you. I’m 57 and 5. In any event, I plan to finish up the year a perfect 3-0 and make everyone rich.
Pittsburgh at Denver 3
If you thought Blitzburg made Peyton Manning look bad last week, wait and see what happens to Jake Plummer. By the way, I called Snake this week and said, “Snake, you’re on football’s 2nd biggest stage this weekend. Take that muskrat off your face.” That is one ugly beard. Besides that, Pittsburgh will ensure he spends the day picking hunks of sod out of it. I know it sounds like I’m sitting on the fence but here’s how I see it. Plummer is brutal. The Broncos don’t deserve to be here. The Steelers do absolutely everything better.
So obviously, I’ll take the Steelers and the 3. Normally, I don’t do this but I’ll go two steps further. I like the Steelers to win outright and by double digits and that means I won’t have to look at that rat-faced Bronco coach anymore.
Carolina at Seattle 3.5
The Seahawks covered by only half a point on Washington last week and the Redskins have no offence. Seattle will learn what the Bears learned last week. Not even the best defence in the league can cage Steve Smith. That reminds me of the day Jungle let our budgie out of the cage to get some exercise. Then he went to watch cartoons and forgot about him. Let’s just say that was a good day for our family cat. That lesson taught us, as it will again on Sunday, when Cats and Birds matchup, it never ends well for the Birds.
So I like the Panthers and the 3 and a half. And Don’t forget. In conference championships, my career record is 95-3.
