Okay, I'm sick of the KEYS to victory. Beside, using keys to gain entry to stuff is at an all time low. It's all about passcodes now. So I present to you the passcodes to victory tonight.
Passcode #1 - Reunite the big line. Daniel Alfredsson, Dany Heatly and Jason Spezza were all scuttling along in game 2 Monday night. Once reunited, they caught fire.
Passcode #2 - Don't allow the early goal. It's so important for the club to avoid the "here we go again" mentality, the thought of another playoff disappointment creeping in. This is a team that hasn't been that great at coming from behind. Silencing the crowd doesn't hurt either. Buffalo has very little playoff success or even experience. Now they're at home with the pressure of their fans hopes and expectations. Let's see how they handle it.
Passcode #3 - Bug Ryan Miller. It's cliche but you can't stop what you can't see. The Sens got 44 shots off Monday night but only 5 or 6 were truly dangerous. Miller got a good look at everything. The guy is 140 pounds with hair like a teenaged girl so he's obviously in touch with his sensitive side. He may not be a hothead type but every goalie gets rattled if they aren't given space and proper vision.
Passcode #4 - The Senator defence must err on the side of caution. No more jumping up in the play, HOPING you can make a play on the puck and creating 2 on 1's the other way. And no more cute passes at the blue line. Buffalo's offence has been all fast break stuff. They're a pack of counter punchers. Challenge them to beat you in even man situations. I don't think they can.
My guarantee? A victory tonight or I wear a Blue team jersey for the next week.
