Heatley Looking Hart-ly

Dany Heatley deserves some Hart Trophy love this year. Heatley has been outstanding in all facets this season and his points are right there with the best in the game. Only Sidney Crosby and Martin Brodeur are clearly ahead of Heatley right now. To win, Heatley would need the Pens to fall out of it, which looks less and less likely with each passing day. People would then ask, “How valuable was Crosby to his team if they missed the playoffs?” It wouldn’t be enough that he helped them not be unbelievably horrible.

He’d also need Brodeur to lose votes on the goalie bias. Goalies do have their own award but the bias is waning. After not winning one for 35 years, goalies have claimed 3 of the last 9 Hart Trophies.

Sens Finally Healthy!

Now that Mike Fisher is back in the lineup tonight, the Sens are healthy. Finally. And knock on wood. I'm keen to see how close my line projections were when I made them three weeks ago.

Heatley-Kelly-Alfie
Vermette-Spezza-Fisher
Schaefer-Comrie-Neil
McAmmond centreing Eaves and one of Schubert, Hamel or McGrattan

Not bad. Stanley cups have been won with less talent at forward.
