Most of the time, I preach calm. Don’t panic after one game. But Gerber is out of excuses. The one last defence for his shaky play has been removed. Most people said this goalie performs better when he’s not looking over his shoulder. Well, instead of proving that to be true, he rained all over his own grand opening Saturday. He was awful. And even when Gerber is good, he consistently appears unsure, skittish and jumpy.
Enough stumbling in goal, already. How many more years of mediocre to bad goaltending does this franchise have to endure?
Gerber had his chance at the front of the line. He’s had many chances. Time to give someone else a try. You’re next, Al. Whattya got?
Yesterday, Auld had plenty.

i can't say i disagree with you, at all!
After watching Gerber playing last weekend, his head was a proverbial bobble-head. Not only that, his positioning is horrible. He needs to be re-schooled. He spends too much time inside his net, and that leaves a gaping hole for NHL goal scorers to pop one in the net.
Auld looked solid. I say give him the shot!
My question is: with Elliot waiting in the wings, is Brian Murray just keeping Gerber around for one more year (until his contract ends) and hopes he has a mediocre year.....
Kinda makes you think: is the wrong goalie playing in Russia?
You're a moron.. Oops sorry, that show is no more, but you're still a moron. Enough of the media attempting to social engineer the public. Two games in and, because of the media, the sporting nuts in this city are talking about a goaltending controversy. Yeah, I agree with you that there is none, but that is because Gerber should and will start the next game, hopefully the next 2 or 3. Return to this issue after he has played 10 games and has won less then 7 of the 10.
