NHL Sissies Gone Wild

Saturday was a weird day in the NHL. Sidney Crosby and Alex Semin, both known for their scoring, put down their sticks and put up their dukes. It didn't go well.

With Florida badly working the Penguins over, Sidney Crosby snapped. Sid gutlessly sucker punched the snot out of Florida's Brett Mclean. McLean thought he was taking a face off. He should have known better. Sid is like a puma. He can attack at any moment. You gotta be ready.

Crosby claims he asked Mclean to fight before the faceoff and he agreed. Please. Even if Crosby did say that, which I don't believe, why WOULD anybody take him seriously? He's not George Laraque, constantly asking guys if they want to "go". Would he accomodate the next player who asks him to go? Of course not.

Not unless it's Washington's Alex Semin.

Semin did recently say some stuff about Sid being overrated. Yessir. Semin would make an excellent victim - particularly since, as we learned Saturday, he's easily the most limp wristed fighter the league has ever seen. Behold.

I say both Semin and Crosby should be suspended. Crosby for his random, unprovoked attack on an unprepared opponent. Semin for, well...for whatever that was.
