I Believe!!!

As the Sens put their season on the line tonight in Pittsburgh, down 3-1 in the series, I gotta say...I BELIEVE!!!
I believe….
I would have a little more faith if Michalek, Kovalev and Kuba were healthy.

I believe...
That I'm confused about the goaltending choice tonight. Brian Elliott has earned the start. Elliott has proven all season that, while occasionally shaky, he can win. Leclaire has not.

I believe...
That I said weeks ago that Shean Donovan should start Game 1 not Game 5. In a series like this, if you aren't scoring, you better be hustling and smashing guys. That's Donovan, not Ryan Shannon or Jonathan Cheechoo.

I believe...
I've had enough of Jason Spezza's carelessness - seven years of turnovers from low percentage shots and high risk, blind passes. You can survive that in the regular season. Come April, one turnover is often the difference between victory and elimination. You make 8 million dollars, Jason. You're set for life. Stop playing like personal stats are your main priority and take care of the puck. Hopefully, there's an Yzerman-like turnaround in his priorites very soon.

I believe...
The Sens are due for a break from the officials. Their 25 minor penalties in 4 games leads all NHL teams.

I believe...
The Senators will score first tonight. They have to. They must avoid adversity for as long as possible. Don't give up the first goal, don't take the first penalty. Either one will create an, "Oh no, here we go again" mentality while the Penguins and their fans are pumped and salivating.

I believe...
The winner of the 4-5 matchup in the East - the Sens and Pens series - probably assumed they'd have to face a truly great contender like Washington or New Jersey in round 2. Right now, barring a major collapse, the winner will get Boston.

I believe...
I'll be wearing my "I Believe" T-shirt from the 2007 cup run tonight.
I believe...
I'm going to need a pail of rolaids tonight.
